Introduction
The only thing just as important as installing fire alarms is maintaining them. The inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of these systems is defined by NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, and for good reason. Missed or misunderstood ITM frequencies can lead to system failures, Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) violations, costly nuisance alarms, and operational disruptions.
